How Time Flies

Been quite a while since i posted.  Been in pain most of the time, but seeing the pain doc tomorrow. Dreading it, since i'm using the bus, and those seats make this hurt. Gonna take a full hydrocodone for it,,lol. I just take a 1/2 normally. Sure hope he does that ephidural? injection into the spine, and it works. There was talk of an MRI, butttttt........... how in the world am i supposed to lay on my back for any length of time?

Still don't have that thing that goes around my head to sleep with. I just called and was told they would get back to me and set up an appointment... MERCY!!!!!!!!

My son's leg is getting better every day. He's been home about a week. He can lift his foot about 5" from the floor now, and put a little weight on it, holding on to the walker. His back is fine!

Well, we finally got a little rain. All that forecasting, missing us, then about 4:30 it started this morning, rained hard for about 20 minutes and quit. I finally got up about 6 and then it came again. Maybe more later. Just heavy rain so far. Worst thing, supposed to do this tomorrow when i go to the doc.

I'm still putting off getting in the shower. Hip and leg haven't quit hurting today. Guess i'm gonna have to take more pain med.

Need to go to the grocery store, and just can't make myself do it.

More and More Appointments

So tired of doing doctor appointments!! These last 2 made me miss my nap, NOT GOOD. Hadn't realized how much i have to have my naps.

I thot i would have to do another sleep study, but,, Wednesday, my doc told me it had worked great, and i didn't quit breathing once, wearing the first one i had that nite. It stretches around my head and goes into my nose like an oxygen hook up. And the oxygen hooks to it. The second one i tried, i couldn't do, smothered me. It was a mask type with an air flow so strong, i couldn't breathe with it. I'll get it in a week, had to be ordered. Next appointment,,,, 7 weeks...lol

Then yesterday, saw the one here about my hip, which he told me wasn't my hip, and nothing could be done!  WAIT A MINUTE!!!,,, A person can't live with pain like this. He is gonna talk to my pain doc and see if he can put an injection into my lower spine, which he thinks is the problem. Meantime, barely can walk, pain goes down into my foot, making it so i can barely use it. (son told me that's how his back had done). Just do something, somebody!!

Today, i'm sitting as still as possible, taking pain pills with THEIR side effects, trying to recuperate.

Son has been in rehab for about 10 days, and is coming home tomorrow, even tho his leg still won't work. They told him it could take several months, and the blood clot was probably what did it to the nerve. He's the type that will overwork himself on therapy to make it work. He'll have a wheel chair, and maybe crutches. And maybe a leg brace he thinks would help a lot. His back is FINE.

I need to go to Walmart in the worst way, too, BB, but just don't have it in me yet. Got a new prescription for my glasses i need to check out there too. Even some shoes maybe.

I swear i heard a cow outside this morning.  lololol. I didn't get up to look, (told ya, sitting still). There's some up the street about a block.

My neighbor's mad at me for asking what was wrong with her 3 lb yipping yapping dog... hahahaha. They're the worst. She told me she was gonna trap my cat and have the city pick it up for disturbing her.... HA. Not my cat... lololol. But now, she shuts that  (*&^$#Q dog up. How can people stand their own dogs, doing that???

ANOTHER One

I talked to my son about 7 one nite, and the next morning, find out he had to be taken back to the hospital for emergency surgery! OMG. His wrist where there had been an IV tube attached had gotten really infected, causing his hand to swell up huge, and him to run a high fever. They cleaned it out and put a drain tube in, and by the time i called, he was fine. He's still in the hospital, waiting to go back to rehab. His leg is still not working, and he needs the therapy to be able to come home.

We actually got some rain yesterday. It was just a good steady rain, for about 4 hours. I went over to my bro's house and we all sat out on his patio under the metal roof. Wonderful.

Gosh, gotta go back tomorrow nite for that sleep study again. (my LAST). The doc's office called last nite about 7 !!! to change my appointment to see him. Never had that happen before.

The crawfish thing this weekend was pretty much rained out til about 7. There's a huge golf tourney, huge roping contest, plus the crawfish. It's the first time it has done that in all the years they've had it. Of course, the ol CofC had to get involved and start putting up fence, in our CITY PARK, to keep you out unless you pay to get in. I quit going years ago. All i wanted was to hear the reggae bands anyway. I think all they've had this year is country.

Monday, Monday

Son was transferred into rehab Sat, and when i called this morning he was doing therapy. So, haven't talked to him yet.

My hip is lots better but not completely without pain. I know that replacement is in my future. lol.

Got the new sticker on my car a few days ago, and they took off the registration one too. All i have is one showing 7-15, when plates are due. He told me my serpentine belt was about to come apart, so gotta get that replaced.

Sure hope we get some rain, but not much hope. It's going just south of us.

My stomach keeps staying upset, off and on, so i made an appointment for tomorrow to see what's going on. I think it's something i'm taking. I blame everything on that lol.

Hope it gets fixed by Wed, got an appointment over in Burnet to do that eye check, finish that up. Riding the bus, don't want to lose control,,, lol.

I just might order my new glasses online, i looked into it on glassesusa.com. G/dotter and BF came by a few days ago and he fixed my printer so it scans into computer now. Put a picture in to use to see frames on me.

Another Short Update

Son's in a regular room, but when they did another mylogram, didn't find anything to be causing his leg to be numb, so Doc thinks therapy will do it. They had him up with his body brace, leg brace, and a walker yesterday and he walked across the room and back, then today, walked some in the hall. He was making his leg work too, which is already an improvement from yesterday.

My hip is 90% better!!! Found out that doc hadn't ordered one into my hip, just around the spine and into the bursa muscle. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR WHY??? The hip has been the problem since the getgo.

Just a Short Report

The Doc went back in to one place and fixed the bleeding and took a blood clot out. The right leg isn't numb any more, but now the left one is, and if it's not better Monday, he will go back in to fix it too. He stands straight, and is going into a regular room today.

I  told him the Doc was gonna get him right yet! And he will.

In the meantime, i can't wait til Tuesday, to get my hip taken care of,,, I HOPE. If not, replace it! Only way i'm pain free is if i'm not moving.

My 2 brothers came by and wired my 220 plug back into a 110 for the new ac i got last year. I guess it hadn't been right from the getgo, but it is now. Took em quite a while. The older one has changed that a few times before, so i don't know why he didn't do this before either.

I'm going with Brad to visit my son in a bit. He said he'd push a wheel chair for me... lol.

Son's Surgery

It was torture for me to have to wait here at home for news. I got the first call at 7:45 that he had just been taken to surgery, and also the news it could be 8-9 hours long. He had told me that besides the one bad one that didn't get fixed 2 1/2 years before, there were 3 other places to do something to, too.

I waited, and waited, then waited some more for the update news, and finally about 2 couldn't wait any longer so i called his dad, and they had no news either. Around 3 his fiance pestered them enough that they called and got an update, which she was told everything was going just great, and would be another 1  to 1 1/2 hours. 2 more hours went by, and i called again, nothing. Around 5;15, they finally got thru, Went great, there will be no pain, and he will be able to stand straight. That was the bad fix, had to break the bone mashing on his spinal cord, pull it straight and fuse it. That's why it takes a neurosurgeon to do that. This one is great.

He had to have some blood transfusion, not sure how much, and he is staying in ICU all nite to keep him calm and under. They will wake him in the morning. I told his dad it wasn't as bad as the 21 days before when his esophagus ruptured. (thanks for that spell checker)lol,

This is one of those nites where i wake up, and can't get back to sleep, so here i am. He's like me, do what is needed asap. Not scared of surgery, DO IT. Gosh, i'm ready with this hip. It's a wonder i haven't gained 50 pounds, but haven't gained any, not being able to walk but just enough to get where i have to be. Getting in my car is hard, having to lift that leg in.
