Just a Small Number of Who Was There

You didn't know you could play poker with this many? lol. There are several games that is unlimited players. We do dealer's choice and there are lots of games. See the little one on the left? Yep, she plays some of them too. lol. It's their risk, have to play with no help and if they lose, too bad.

I didn't make it for dinner, just wasn't able, but did go down there about 4PM, and stayed for a long time. Here in the garage where the poker was going on...At times there were even more than this playing. SUCH a good time! Brad brought me a plate at noon, after calling to ask what i wanted, and when he discovered later he had brought the wrong dressing, here he came with the right one, AND the gravy too..... hahahaha (he had forgotten that).

They were passing a quart jar of moonshine around, and by 8,,, none of them should have been driving,,,O, they had their beer sitting around in the ice chests,,,moonshine was a plus. Needless to say, i did a LOT of LOL...

My friend Sue sent me TWO plates, one with hot stuff, other cold, and OMG,,,I haven't even gotten into them yet, but i will start for lunch today. Plus about 5 of her homemade rolls..YUMMMMMMMMM Had one of those with my breakfast.

The icy front hit here about 9am,,, DD, and in just minutes my windows were fogging. Rain too. Such a great day to stay in by the heater, with my book, and some of my recordings on tv. I love Alaska, the last frontier, so i have hours and hours of that recorded. Plus my jigsaw set up,, need help with. lol.

Have any of you actually gone out to shop today? I saw this LONG line on tv from yesterday,,,waiting for JCP to open.

Well getting back to my games, so yall tc, and

Not sure even now, if i can make it to my brother's house,, 1/2 a block from me, for dinner. The full pain has come back, i think the injections wore off, so walking, standing, moving of any kind, is very very painful. I could probably get into the house but then there's still a lot of standing and moving around the tables,,,buffet style. Guess i'll wait and see,,,, around 11:30 or so. Pretty sure i can talk someone into bringing me a plate or 2,,, lol, wellllll, 1 for desserts you know....

Hungry now, so yall tc, and

Verdict Coming UP

The injections worked pretty good, so she did the next set. These tell her it's actually those nerves coming from my spine so the radio frequency ablation will be on the right ones, and will burn them into. It will last 6 months to a year, she said, cause the nerves will grow back.....(couldn't wait to tell my son that). The injections yesterday will help more than the first round and i can tell pretty much even today. Not using my walker like i was. Still using the pain pills tho.

If i don't get a lot better, i can't go to my bro's house for Thanksgiving, due to the walking i would have to do. And so many people there, the chairs to sit in, etc. Hard on this ol leg, hip pain. Kinda sounds pretty good, lol, and i think someone would bring me some plates... lol, you do see the plural there dont ya? I always bring home one plate of desserts, little of this, little of that makes a plate full you know. Also, the main turkey or ham, or pot roast, whatever, and all the zillions of sides.

I stopped to get my fresh eggs from my friend and ooooo wow! She and her dotter gave me a plate of deer meat, mashed potatoes and gravy!! too. Her dotter does the hunting and had gotten one that morning.  Just had breakfast and getting hungry all over again, thinking about that.....

All i got yall, so tc, and

Roping A Deer-
(Names have been removed to protect the Stupid)
I had this idea that I was going to rope a deer, put it in a stall, feed it up on corn for a couple of weeks, then kill it and eat it.
The first step in this adventure was getting a deer. I figured that, since they congregate at my cattle feeder and do not seem to have much fear of me when we are there (a bold one will sometimes come right up and sniff at the bags of feed while I am in the back of the truck not 4 feet away), it should not be difficult to rope one, get up to it and toss a bag over its head (to calm it down) then hog tie it and transport it home.
I filled the cattle feeder then hid down at the end with my rope.
The cattle, having seen the roping thing before, stayed well back. They were not having any of it.
After about 20 minutes, my deer showed up - 3 of them. I picked out...a likely looking one, stepped out from the end of the feeder, and threw...my rope. The deer just stood there and stared at me.
I wrapped the rope around my waist and twisted the end so I would have a good hold. The deer still just stood and stared at me, but you could tell it was mildly concerned about the whole rope situation.
I took a step towards it...it took a step away. I put a little tension on the rope and then received an education.
The first thing that I learned is that, while a deer may just stand there looking at you funny while you rope it, they are spurred to action when you start pulling on that rope.
That deer EXPLODED.
The second thing I learned is that pound for pound, a deer is a LOT stronger than a cow or a colt. A cow or a colt in that weight range I could fight down with a rope and with some dignity.
A deer – no chance.
That thing ran and bucked and twisted and pulled.
There was no controlling it and certainly no getting close to it.
As it jerked me off my feet and started dragging me across the ground, it occurred to me that having a deer on a rope was not nearly as good and idea as I had originally imagined.
The only up side is that they do not have as much stamina as many other animals.
A brief 10 minutes later, it was tired and not nearly as quick to jerk me off my feet and drag me when I managed to get up. It took me a few minutes to realize this, since I was mostly blinded by the blood flowing out of the big gash in my head. At that point, I had lost my taste for corn-fed venison. I just wanted to get that devil creature off the end of that rope.
I figured if I just let it go with the rope hanging around its neck, it would likely die slow and painfully somewhere. At the time, there was no love at all between me and that deer. At that moment, I hated the thing, and I would venture a guess that the feeling was mutual.
Despite the gash in my head and the several large knots where I had cleverly arrested the deer’s momentum by bracing my head against various large rocks as it dragged me across the ground, I could still think clearly enough to recognize that there was a small chance that I shared some tiny amount of responsibility for the situation we were in, so I didn’t want the deer to have to suffer a slow death, so I managed to get it lined back up in between my truck and the feeder - a little trap I had set before hand...kind of like a squeeze chute.
I got it to back in there and I started moving up so I could get my rope back.
Did you know that deer bite?
They do! I never in a million years would have thought that a deer would bite somebody, so I was very surprised when I reached up there to grab that rope and the deer grabbed hold of my wrist.
Now, when a deer bites you, it is not like being bit by a horse where they just bite you and then let go. A deer bites you and shakes its head – almost like a pit bull. They bite HARD and it HURTS.
The proper thing to do when a deer bites you is probably to freeze and draw back slowly. I tried screaming and shaking instead. My method was ineffective. It seems like the deer was biting and shaking for several minutes, but it was likely only several seconds.
I, being smarter than a deer (though you may be questioning that claim by now), tricked it! I tricked that deer!
While I kept it busy tearing the tendons out of my right arm, I reached up with my left hand and pulled that rope loose. That was when I got my final lesson in deer behavior for the day.
Deer will strike at you with their front feet. They rear right up on their back feet and strike...right about head and shoulder level, and their hooves are surprisingly sharp. I learned a long time ago that, when an animal–like a horse–strikes at you with their hooves and you can’t get away easily, the best thing to do is try to make a loud noise and make an aggressive move towards the animal. This will usually cause them to back down a bit so you can escape.
This was not a horse.
This was a deer, so obviously, such trickery would not work. In the course of a millisecond, I devised a different strategy. I screamed and hollered and tried to turn and run.
The reason I had always been told NOT to try to turn and run from a horse that paws at you is that there is a good chance that it will hit you in the back of the head. Deer may not be so different from horses after all, besides being twice as strong and 3 times as evil, because the second I turned to run, it hit me right in the back of the head and knocked me down.
Now, when a deer paws at you and knocks you down, it does not immediately leave. I suspect it does not recognize that the danger has passed. What they do instead is paw your back and jump up and down on you wile you are laying there crying and trying to cover your head.
I finally managed to crawl under the truck and the deer finally went away.
So now I know why when people go deer hunting they bring a rifle with a scope to sort of even the odds.

Wow

Checked in to MysticMuds blog and was informed i couldn't read it because i wasn't approved! hahahaha Only reason i wanted to is because i wanted to see if she was still bumming off people, asking for hand outs. That was the reason i left it anyway. Anybody doing this? Or signed up? Hate bums!

My g/dotter showed up with one, and i had to tell her SHE and the baby could stay anytime, but NEVER him any more. My God, he's 46 and still doing online classes to earn some kind of a degree, (excuse for not working). Now he's too old to even get a 20 year retirement. Talks about all these high paying jobs he can get,, well dude,,, where are they? Surely she'll wake up. No one can stand him around here, probably anywhere else too.

Gosh, had a hard time trying to sleep last nite, with this pain. No position worked. and i barely could get up this morning. I guess i set too long in a bad chair at my brother's yesterday. It's like i'm sore from the pain, BAD! Gonna stay pretty inactive today. for sure! And here i thot those injections were working... (plz plz work).

Took a couple of pictures yesterday, the Friday before deer season... Usually can't get thru town, with the hunters everywhere. We advertised we're the capitol of TX in deer hunting. Used to be the USA, and before that, the world.... lol. Just know there's LOTs. We have 2 cousins down from Sherman and are out at my Sis's today, unless the rain made them wait. She told them they better not shoot her doe and her twins. Hope they don't but others might. On the river, right behind her, they could get shot any time. There's been 3 bucks coming there too, and she told them they were ok.

As a matter of fact, i haven't heard any big guns going off today,,,, hmmmm, rain must have messed a lot up.

Having trouble with my u not wanting to work.

All the merchants raised their prices for the hunters. Groceries, gas, but when i went in to get a kid's bun at Inman's Kitchen, home of turkey sausage, and with the beans, total was over 6.00, i just canceled and left. That little 1/2 cup of beans were 1.95!!!,,, Nope, not me. Should come with the other food, like Cooper's does.

Mercy! I've gotta take a nap,,,think i can get into my laz/y/boy and do it. Yall tc, and

Got Started

Yep, got started on this pain issue. Doc  put injections of something other than steroids into 5 of my lower spine joints. There will be another round next Monday too. This will help her locate the nerve that is causing the pain so she can kill it. This morning it's already better. This is all in preparation for the ablation implant. I told her that even if i had to have the surgery and it killed me, i could NOT live with this. I could barely walk or get up, or get into my car. And now my left knee is really giving me problems... lol.

Why do we have to get old?

I got a chicken dinner at the chicken place for supper, and couldnt even eat one piece. I just can't eat that greasy stuff any more, and would not have gotten it if anything else had been open,,, i mean like restaurants. Why do all of them have to close on Monday? I eat from Sonic so much because they do have a varied menu, should have just gone back there. It really IS cheaper for me to pick up something, than to cook. I keep thinking i should start using my crockpot, and maybe i will,,, some day,, lol.

Ok, yall, sitting here trying to think of something else going on, but,,, it's not, so tc, and
